Davis on the Constitution

For your reading pleasure, here is a FreeAlabama.Com exclusive: Jefferson Davis on the Constitution: An Extract from The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government. This is, to my knowledge, the first time that any substantial part of Davis' Rise and Fall has been made available online. This extract is a masterful exposition of the compact theory of the Constitution, by a man who would have been tried for treason had the U.S. government not thought it would lose the case.
